POP3

The email system, used to receive incoming messages. An email client such as a PC or Cell Phone, connects to the email server and receives from the server the messages residing there.

POP3 allows downloaded messages to be read and replies written off-line.

The server settings and the User ID / Password need to be setup for this to work.

Not to be confused with SMTP - used for sending messages.
