The Sony CMD-Z5 offers comfortable mobility in a small, stylish package. With a size no bigger than a business card, the Sony Z5 defies the theory that small size means sacrificing functionality and ergonomics. Weighing only 82 gr., the Sony-Z5 is one of the lightest WAP handsets available.

WAP

The CMD-Z5 gives you all the information you need. Using WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) technology, you can have updates from thousands of WAP mobile information services. Anything from market movements to travel news; whenever, wherever it's most essential.

 E-mail

With the Sony Z5 you're able to send and receive email wherever you are. You can access your own email service direct from the Sony Z5 so you can do everything you'd do in the office without being at your desk. The messages can be longer than those available with SMS, and any attached graphics or picture files sent to you can be viewed later on a PC.

Ringer tones and Vibra Alert

There are 27 pre-set ringer tones. Even more if you're feeling creative and want to compose your own. A keyboard shown on the display supports the creation of an individual melody. By using the Jog Dial and the keyboard tones and pauses can be set. And so you won't even have to look at your Sony Z5 to know who's calling, each tone can be assigned to a different user group in the phonebook. With four alert options available; normal ringer, single beep, vibra alert and meeting (silent), you have the option of being as discreet as the situation demands.

Voice memo

The CMD-Z5 has a built-in answering machine and voice memo, which will record up to 14 messages. You can record the voice of a caller during a call, or your own, for later reference. For instance, you may want to record a 'to do' list or an important phone number

Schedule

The scheduler lets you set dates and times for important meetings and appointments, with an optional alarm alert. You can choose between 3 types of alarm tones, which will ring on time or five minutes before your meeting. Your events can be marked as weekly, monthly or yearly. A daily schedule is also shown on the idle screen.

Phone book

The phone book in the Sony CMD-Z5 is a very powerful and flexible tool. Its huge database capabilities allow you to record the details (phone, fax, e-mail, address) of up to 500 people. You can attach graphic icons to each entry and differentiate work, friends and family within your phone book

T9 ™ Text Input

Using a combination of the Sony Z5's Jog Dial and T9 ™ Text Input, writing SMS messages are fast and fun. With just one key-press per character, the internal dictionary will provide a list of optional words. You just select the one you want. You can even add new words to your personal T9 ™ dictionary.
