Samsung SGH D500 Review
mPhone is proud to present the the first Samsung slider handset
with Bluetooth enabled connectivity. This soft-touch slide-up
design comes with a 1.3 MegaPixel camera (with flash) and
up to 7X digital zoom. It has a large 176x220 pixel display
in 262,000 colours, 80Mb of internal memory and an MP3 music
player. What more could you possibly need?
Another interesting feature is the advanced Picture and Video
capability. The ablity to zoom in and out while you are recording
makes it unique in comparison to other video recording Mobile
Phones. The 1.3 MegaPixel camera has many functions, but the
most outstanding, is the broad range of border frames that
will make every picture unique and fun for storing and sharing.
The Samsung D500 is a tri-band GSM phone with GPRS and it
includes a built-in WAP 2.0 browser and email client. Of course
the D500 also supports MMS and SMS, but it can also be synchronised
with a PC to keep appointments and contacts up to date.
All the above features combined with the large 80Mb of memory
makes the D500 a practical and fun media device. However,
should you start to run out of memory space files can be easily
transferred between phone and computer using a USB cable or
Bluetooth USB Adaptor,
thus freeing up space.
The antenna is invisible to the eye as it is housed internally
within the case. Samsung has named this feature an 'intenna'
which as you may agree with us adds to the D500 slick design
and shape.
In terms of size, the D500 is smaller than the Samsung D410
but a bit larger than the popular E800, coming in at 90x46x24mm
and 98 grams, which is still a fairly compact device.
Other exciting features of this handset are the advanced
Java Enabled Games, which are bound to transform you into
an addict. They go by the likes of Forgotten Warrior (Adventure
Platform game), FreeKick (Football game) and Arch Angel (Flight
Combat Arcade game).
Another important feature is that basic phone operations
on the Samsung D500 can be done with the slider tucked away
- the keypad is really only used for manual number dialling
and texting.
As we can see Samsung has released a real winner in the UK
market and here at mPhone Ltd we expect this phone to be a
very popular and a best seller in no time.
